Everyone has a story to tell. Some are just beginning their journey, others are reaching the trails end. At some point each of us will have their own “something” to overcome. No one gets out of this thing we call life unscathed, but we can share life lessons and break trail for others.

When we speak about who we are and what we’ve gone through. It’s akin to reading a books “Preface”, but it’s more important to look at someone’s entire body of work. It’s there, by action, not the words that the content, style and merit can best be evaluated.  Often the “Preface” is actually an aspirational state and out of reach  After calibration, you’ll know if the story should be classified as “Fiction” or “Non-Fiction”.

If you have already embraced your “something“, I encourage you to do something with it. Share it with others going through their own challenges and those unwilling to accept it. Help them understand, it’s not the weight of load, but how you carry the burden. When their “something” comes, the seeds of your inspirational advice can bear nourishing and comforting fruit.

There is no benefit in taking your “something” into eternity. It is far better to leave as many gifts here on earth as possible. Some will be opened long after you are gone.  So leverage the light given to you now to illuminate the path for others in the future.
