Each us will hit The Wall at some point in our life. The Wall is, where by choice, chance or default, we are no longer willing or able to evolve. We are who we are and no further changes in our core values, views or beliefs occurs.
Some people choose to enter this stationary existence a lot sooner than others. Finding comfort in experiencing life today the same as yesterday. Approaching each day, as a concisely framed snapshot in time, much like viewing a photo taken years or decades ago. Frozen, static, unalterable.
Others fully embrace the uncertainty that comes with the special gift of one’s life. Striving to play a hand dealt to the best of their ability. Mindful that there are others contemplating a next move with a more dire set of cards. Constantly challenging primal thoughts and tethered beliefs to optimistically look forward while inspirationally leveraging the past. Never truly satisfied with where and who they are today. Instead, choosing to believe that a more holistic version of themselves is realistically within reach and worthy of any discomfort and the extra effort expended.
The humbling reality is, we will never be internally complete. For evolution is a perpetual and aspirational north star that will outlive all of humankind. Our individual trajectories and final destination is based on a series of discreet, and yet cumulative set of life decisions about whether and when to “Continue” or “Stop”. While nirvana is the hypothetical desired end state, ultimately, we will be measured and rewarded by the progress made at the conclusion of our journey.
The path of least resistance, is often the one that inhibits personal growth. There are no shortcuts to success and there is no success without obstacles. But please know this, there is so much more of life and of yourself that lies just beyond The Wall. So do not tap the brakes prematurely, a better you is impatiently waiting just around life’s never-ending corners. For many fortunate souls, The Wall will ultimately be embraced in unison with their last breath, leaving indelible footprints and an enduring legacy.
Be Strong, Be Reflective and Remain Blessed.
